On January 25, 2017, I signed a contract with McFarland & Company, Inc. for the second edition of my biography of Cal Tjader. I had been initially informed by David Alff that a "few years" would separate the publication of the first and second editions. This time period has since changed to six plus years; the deadline is officailly October 15, 2019. Add to that the preparation time on McFarland's end coupled with my review of the proofs, and the book will be available early in 2020.
Periodic updates will be posted along the way––the first chapter is nearly completed as of this writing. Moreover, there will be more details––there is a jazz connection–– about my upcoming fiction. My agent, Elisa Celli, has been circulating a collection of short stories to prospective publishers and I will continue to create more adventures featuring a private detective for future books.
